The Bf109 underwent numerous improvement throughout its career, and mass production of the E variant started late in 1939. Within one year, about 2,000 "E" aircraft were rolled out. Its excellent performance greatly contributed in the active service of German pilots at the Western Front and during the "Battle of Britain". The E-3 version used an improved Daimler-Benz DB601Aa engine capable of 1,100 h.p. output. This engine had provision for mounting a 20mm MG FF cannon on the crankcase and firing through the propeller hub. Der American Bell OH-13 Sioux ist eine Ikone der Luftfahrtgeschichte. Der Helikopter mit dem unverwechselbaren Design wurde unmittelbar nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg entwickelt und Ende der 1940er-Jahre an die US-Armee verteilt. Hauptmerkmale des OH-13 Sioux waren das "Seifenblasendach", der freiliegende Heckausleger (aus geschweißtem Rohr), das starre Kufenlandegestell und die ballonförmigen Kraftstofftanks. Der Ein-Rotor-Helikopter hatte eine dreisitzige Kabinenkonfiguration und konnte eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 170 km/h erreichen. Er war sowohl robust als auch außergewöhnlich zuverlässig. Der Turbostar war europaweit ein großer kommerzieller Erfolg für den italienischen Hersteller Iveco. Dank seiner Zuverlässigkeit und Leistungsfähigkeit war der LKW Ende der 1980er-Jahre das am weitesten verbreitete Industriefahrzeug in Italien. Besonders beliebt war die Version mit Planendeck, die eine große Flexibilität beim Gütertransport bot. Um die Be- und Entladetätigkeiten zu verbessern, wurde der Planenversion oft eine hydraulische Heckplattform hinzugefügt. Northrop F-5 entstand in den 60er Jahren mit dem Ziel, der Notwendigkeit zahlreicher NATO-Mitgliedsstaaten gerecht zu werden, die ein einfaches, wirtschaftliches und leicht zu wartendes Mehrzweckkampfflugzeug verlangten. Aus der ursprünglichen Flugzeugzelle wurde Anfang der 1970er Jahre die F-5E Tiger II geboren. Die Luftwaffe erhielt die ersten Exemplare in den frühen 70er-Jahren, wo sie neben Japan, Iran, Israel und Griechenland am meisten zum Einsatz kamen. Viele Bauteile und Aufklärungssysteme wurden auch in Deutschland hergestellt. Die RF-4E konnte "allwettertaugliche" Aufklärungsmissionen durchführen und dank ihrer Infrarotsensoren, Zielsuchsysteme und Fotokameras das Gelände wirkungsvoll und genau abbilden. Einige Länder entwickelten des Weiteren einsatzspezifische Versionen.
