Upgrade kit With Optimized Design This is the latest generation Bondtech upgrade for the popular Prusa I3 MK3S, with an optimized design achieved with the help of the community. Bondtech Extruder For Prusa i3 MK3S This kit contains the necessary parts to convert your current extruder to our own popular design based upon our BMG (Bondtech Mini Geared) extruder with 3:1 gearing ratio for better precision and resolution together with optimized geometry for the heatsink cooling and professional SLS 3D printed housing. Lightweight BMG (Bondtech Mini Geared) With this version we also lower the moving weight to reduce ghosting and vibrations or to allow increasing the printing speed. 15% of weight saving was achieved. Product Main Features This extruder upgrade kit is for the Prusa i3 MK3S, or other Prusa i3 models upgraded to MK3S. These are its main features: - Adapted to fit Prusa’s new filament sensor; - Includes one Bondtech’s BMG extruder with 3:1 gearing ratio; - Optimized geometry for heat-sink cooling; - Less moving weight to reduce vibration and ghosting; - Professional SLS 3D printed housing. Addressing 3D printing Issues The enhanced housing design improves cooling and decreases heat creeping issues that all metal hotends have when printing with PLA. This small enhancement will avoid many clogs. The increased push force will drastically reduce slipping, shredding and deformation of the filament avoiding most of the common filament 3D printing issues that start with under and over extrusion. Updating the Firmware To use this upgrade in the MK3S, the E-steps needs to be updated to 830, as it uses 32-bit microstepping. Built for the Creality3D CR-10 V2 This extruder upgrade kit is for the Creality CR-10 V2 and will replace the original feeder. This kit contains no motor, the original motor is used. Bondtech`s Dual Drive Performance This kit provides a high-performance material feeding system with the ability to print faster with improved quality. The adjustable thumbscrew allows you to fine-tune the force acting on the filament. It allows for a more reliable printing with all sorts of filaments, both stiff and flexible and the DualDrive system ensures that the extruder never loses grip of the filament so grinding, slipping is a thing of the past. Lower Current Recommended Due to the gearing ratio, the stepper motor can push filament with such force the Bowden tube can be extruded in case there is a clog. To avoid such damage, we recommend lowering the stepper motor Current to near half the original current. Check the Step By Step Guide that teaches users how to do it. Bowden Solution The Bowden tube is securely held in place by the 4mm industry standard integrated push-fit connector. Reducing Filament Jams There is now a near to 0,1mm gap between the Bondtech gears and SLS 3D printed housing that avoids filament to jam in there. An additional short PTFE Tube is added between the Extruder and the Filament Sensor to allow for easier filament loading and unloading. SLS Printed Housing The housing parts are professionally SLS 3D printed with polyamide for maximum strength and precision. Due to the slightly higher geometry of the extruder, the total print height will be 390 mm. Firmware Update The Creality3D Firmware needs to be updated in order to use this Upgrade Kit. Original extruder setup on Raise3D is 532g for single setup, this new upgrade is 252g with the included motor and it allows for faster printing without surface issues due to vibration during accelerations/deaccelerations. The kit comes with it own lightweight pancake motor. The extruder is equipped with a push-fit connector for 4 mm ptfe tube that will let you connect the existing guide tube to the extruder. Tube is not included. Installs in about half an hour with standard tools available. This upgrade fits both the Revision 1 (casted) and Revision 2(cnc-milled) version of the printhead.
