Neuer Name, neuer Look - Glenfiddichs Einzigartigkeit in Vollendung Der „Glenfiddich Solera Reserve 15 Years“ hat einen neuen Namen und ein neues Gesicht bekommen. Im Zuge der Überarbeitung und Neugestaltung des Standardsortiments bei Glenfiddich wurde aus dem 12 Jahre alten Glenfiddich „Our Original Twelve“ und aus der „Solera Reserve“ der „Our Solera Fifteen“. Man wollte mit der Namensänderung, so Eigentümer „William Grant & Sons“, die Kerneigenschaften der jeweiligen Abfüllungen prominent in den Vordergrund rücken. Gleichzeitig soll das neue Design mit deutlich abgesetzter Altersangabe und einem herausgehobenen „V“ für Valley of the Deer die nächste Generation Whisky-Trinker ansprechen. Am Inhalt beider Abfüllungen hat sich nichts verändert – glücklicherweise. Für den „Glenfiddich Our Solera Fifteen“ wird nach wie vor 15 Jahre alter Glenfiddich aus drei unterschiedlichen Fassarten - ehemalige amerikanische Bourbon-Fässer, portugiesische Sherry-Fässer und neue Eichenfässer – miteinander in einem großen Solera-Bottich aus Oregon-Pinie vermählt, um eine ganz besondere Aromen-Mischung herauszuarbeiten. Abgefüllt wird dieser „Glenfiddich Our Solera Fifteen“ in Trinkstärke mit 40 Vol%. In der Nase präsentiert er sich geradezu köstlich, fruchtige Noten vermengen sich mit zartem Honig und Vanille. Darunter liegen trockener Sherry, Zitrus und Orange, mit einem filigranen Hauch Torfrauch ganz im Hintergrund. Dem Gaumen begegnet dieser „Glenfiddich Our Solera Fifteen“ ausgesprochen elegant und voll runder, tiefer Weichheit. Reife Früchte stehen hier im Vordergrund, die zurückhaltend begleitet werden von Gewürz-Noten, Anklänge an Früchtebrot breiten sich aus. Darunter liegen zurückhaltende Eichenholz-Aromen, bevor dieser Glenfiddich langsam, mit Aromen kandierter Früchte und sanften Holz-Noten, weich ausklingt. Geruch: köstlich, einladend, fruchtig, wohlbalancierter Honig und Vanille, mit Sherry und Zitrusfrüchten im Hintergrund, begleitet von einem Hauch Rauch Geschmack: elegant, weich und rund, reife Früchte, Gewürz-Noten, ein wenig Früchtebrot und dezentes Eichenholz Abgang: lang, fruchtig-süß, sanfte Eichenholz-Noten
